AASHTO Discusses ODOT’s Best Practices in Aesthetic Design Using CDR Project Examples

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Official’s (AASHTO) in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Center for Environmental Excellence released a case study highlighting new guidelines they’ve adopted creating a consistent approach to the integration of aesthetics in transportation projects across the state.

The case study uses imagery of CDR’s completed project Wall & Ramp C Piers as well as design concepts for the rehabilitation of the Third Street Bridge in Dayton, Ohio. According to Tim Hill, Environmental Services Administrator with ODOT’s Office of Environmental Services, this approach to aesthetics “will help build some consistency to the look and feel of our transportation system across Ohio.”
