PROJECT INFO

Four larger-than-life silhouettes commemorate the industrious employees of the Glendale Field Operation Center. Interactive cutouts, fabricated from oxidized COR-TEN steel, are mounted slightly away from the wall and change color, tone and hue as the weather naturally rusts the steel. The wall incorporates glass blocks and three types of cement blocks to create patterns along the curvilinear walls of the Field Operation Center enclosure, which serves as a background to the cutouts. These iconographic images reach lengths up to 30 feet and span the height of the wall. Aside from honoring the employees as they go about their everyday tasks, the patterns and cutouts of the wall visually integrate with the colors, textures, and aesthetic style of the surrounding Glendale/Phoenix area.
